Catchin' up...

Where to begin?...
So, it's been a few weeks since I've posted anything. Well, let me catch you up on a few things that have been happening with the Burrows bunch.
First off, we went to southern Nevada for almost a week. My sister from California was in town visiting my parents for a week, so we went to good ol' Panaca to see them. We only stayed there for a couple of days and then it was off to Vegas. There we caught up with some friends (old roommates and a girl I completed my Master's degree with - hey, Karissa can you email me some of those pictures?), went to my niece's wedding, and then to my nephew's mission farewell. It was quite the weekend in Vegas. Not only was it so, so hot, but it was packed full of things to do. It was fun, though, to see some of my siblings and their kids. Nelson was surrounded by some of his girl cousins, and he loved it. (Picture below is with his cousins watching a movie in the hotel room Sunday morning before church.)

While we were down in Nevada, I decided to invite my 11-year-old niece to come visit for the week. My parents and her mom were coming up the next weekend for my nephew's baptism, so I thought it would be fun to have her around for the week. It was fun for the most part. I just didn't get much done, and it was a lot harder than I thought it would be to entertain her. We did go to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point (my first time... and Nelson's too) and swimming, among other things.

As I said before, my nephew got baptized up here last weekend. My parents came up on Thursday and Destiny's mom and brother came up on Friday. It was great to have them here, but I have to say, I am so happy to have an empty house again. It's been nice to spend time with just the three of us... which we'll have less of now that Richard was called to be the new Young Men's President. Oh, which reminds me, anyone up for a girl's night out this weekend since it's Scout Camp? Thursday or Friday works for me!

1st Tag!

Mardee, this was my fist tag as well, so thanks... we'll see if I was made for the tagging world.

5 Things on my t0-do list:

1. Get my lesson on Prayer together for my ward's RS PJ's enrichment breakfast.
2. Finish making invitations for Jackie's baby shower.
3. Fold laundry.
4. Spoil Nelson with love - he deserves it after going to Day Camp for Activity Girls yesterday in Springville Canyon. He handled all of the girls and bugs and sun pretty well.
5. Go for a walk - a love the warm weather!

5 Snacks I love:

1. Popcorn!
2. Anything with potatoes - fries, tater tots, chips... I love potatoes!
3. Fruit snacks
4. String cheese
5. Snow cones!

5 Things I'd do if I suddenly became a millionaire:

1. Pay tithing
2. Pay off debt ... I can only dream of the day that I don't make student loan payments
3. Buy my parents a new house
4. Go on vacations to Australia (to visit my brother), Romania (to visit my mission), and Prague (because that is my dream vacation)
5. Help Mardee & Spencer build a school in India or Africa or Burma (with all of our money combined we can build all three and maybe have money left over to build my orphanage)

5 Places I've lived:

1. Panaca, NV
2. St. George, UT
3. Sibiu, Romania
4. Chisinau, Moldova
5. Chico, CA

5 Jobs I've had:

1. Cashier at Great Harvest
2. Language teacher at the MTC
3. In-field facilitator for BYU's orphanage program
4. Graduate Assistant at UNLV
5. Behavior Consultant/In-home Tutor for a non-profit that works with kids with autism

5 Things people don't know about me:

1. I'm a reality TV junkie - I totally get sucked into them!
2. I was "Sophomore Student of the Year" in 2000 at Dixie College. Go Rebels!
3. I don't like ice cream - okay, people know, they just forget because it is so weird.
4. Since Nelson was born, I became addicted to eBay. I buy lots of his clothes and other things off of there. I am doing really well lately, though, with my recovery from this addiction.
5. My wrists have always been my favorite part of my body. Why? They are the only things on my body that have consistently been cute and little.

So, I have seen this tag on most of my friend's pages already. I cannot remember who has done it or not, so if you haven't done it yet, do it. Or, you may be in risk of me looking through your past posts and coming back here and tagging you... Consider yourself threatened.

Our 7-month-old Breakdancer

Nelson is now 7-months-old! He has been learning lots of new things in the past month.

First of all, he has learned how to deal with the "teething" pain. He isn't as sad anymore as he used to be. His first tooth is getting bigger and the one right next to it is trying hard to pop out, too. (If you enlarge the picture above you can kind of see his tooth on the bottom - and yes, he and his Dad wore matching ties to church yesterday - I couldn't help it, it was Father's Day.)

He is also learning how to move around to get to the things he wants. He used to just want to be sitting all the time. Now he will sit and play and then get down on his stomach and play. He is not crawling yet, but he will move around in circles and does the backwards worm. It is so fun to watch - I love being a Mom! Hopefully, he will remember these break dancing moves, so he can be on So You Think You Can Dance in a few years! (I wish I had pics of this, but he just grabs at the camera whenever I pull it out.)

Nelson also learned to eat so many new foods this past month. He has tried crackers, cereal puffs, ice cream, and a little bit of whatever Mom & Dad are eating. His favorite snack by far is Saltines, though.... just like his Dad.

To My Hottie Husband...

This is Richard's 1st Father's Day! In honor of this special occasion, here are some of my favorite things about him.

#1: He is such a stud muffin!
#2: He is so fun and somewhat crazy!

#3: He is so nerdy - in a cool way, most of the time!

#4: He plays dress-ups with me - and likes it!

#5: He is an amazing Father!

Happy Father's Day, Hottie!
