Help Me Choose, Please!

Mike did such an awesome job with the pictures and my boys are just so handsome, I cannot decide which picture I like the best.  So, here is your assignment: 1) choose the best "Christmas card" picture & 2) choose the best "family picture that hangs in your front room" picture.  And, some of the pictures are just for your enjoyment!

#1: Nelson was not himself during the photo shoot. He was so sad and it took Jackie coming to get him to smile at all. This picture was taken at the end when he had had enough. I like crying pictures (so cute), but Richard doesn't so this one won't be on the Christmas card.

Okay, I only commented on the first picture because I know that we won't use that one, but I didn't want to sway any votes for the rest of the pictures.  So, let me know what you think!
Thanks!

Flying South

Yesterday morning when I got out of the shower, I thought for sure there was a crazy rain/wind storm going on outside.  I rushed to the window and did not see rain or wind.  What I saw was thousands of birds flying by our house.  I didn't get a picture of hundreds of them in our tree, but I got some cool pictures from my bedroom window.  The pictures aren't great because they were taken through my dirty window, but you can see the birds better if you click on the picture and enlarge it.  I guess the birds were letting us know they are going down south to get out of this cold weather... speaking of flying south and cold weather, we are driving ourselves down south to spend Thanksgiving with my family!  Hopefully there will be warmer weather down there!  Either way, I am excited to see my family!

P.S. You may have noticed a couple of new family pictures!  Mr. Warner took them yesterday for us!  It's great having a friend that will take pictures the same day you ask.  Thank you, Mike!  I will put more up after he tweaks the raw footage.

Super Saturday!

Saturday was quite the busy day for me! Not only was it Nelson's Birthday Party, but I also went to the New Kids On The Block concert that night. The day started at 6:00 a.m. when I started making the cake and ended at midnight when I got home from the concert. I was so tired the next day, but it was so worth it! Here are some pictures to prove how great my day was!

My little cowboy with Cowgirl Sara.

The Cowboys & Indians cake my friend, Nicole, helped me decorate!
Thanks, Nicole, for helping me out! It turned out super cute!

Nelson opening his presents... and there were a lot of them!
He is just in his diaper because he had just had cake - look down below for a video of that.

This is the cutest video ever of Nelson at his party. He didn't pick it up at first... just stuck his face in the frosting. Yesterday we found him trying to lick frosting off the floor in the kitchen. We finally cleaned the floors after that. Enjoy!

Now the concert - look at our rock star seats!
An awesome lady in our ward got the tickets for 75 cents a piece!

We had extra tickets and no one in our ward would answer their phones or wanted to go.
So, I called up my friends, Mignon & Sara! I love these girls!

Here is the video I got of NKOTB. I love the 80's!

A big thanks to all of you who came and celebrated Nelson's birthday with us! It was great being with all of you! And, thanks to Lynette for getting us the tickets and the Nicole(s) for partying it up with me at the concert.

Birthday Boy!

My gorgeous little boy turned 1 today! I cannot believe how fast this year has gone! He has brought so much joy and excitement into our lives. And, he amazes us every day with the things he learns and explores.
I am glad that we had already decided to celebrate his birthday on Saturday because both he and I are sick today. I know, not a fun way to celebrate your 1st birthday. Richard keeps reminding me that he doesn't know it is a special day. But, I know it is! I think it's just the 24 hour bug because we are both feeling much better than we did last night and this morning.
We will go to his year check-up tomorrow and then I will post his 1-year-old stats... because I'm that type of Mom.

I love you, Nelson, more than any words or actions can describe. Your Mom is just so glad God entrusted you in her care! Happy 1st Birthday!
