Alone Time!

Nelson has had a cold this past week, and I feel so bad leaving him alone when he is coughing all the time. Well, he has slept through the night the past two nights in his crib, so I think he is getting over it. Of course I started feeling the head cold yesterday, but I am doing much better today. I decided to slip out while Nelson is sleeping and post some thoughts and pictures.

First of all, I ,like many of you, am sad about the passing of President Hinckley. I knew the day would have to come, but I almost wished he would have lived forever. I agree with the feelings my Mom's best friends shared... She said, "I woke up Monday morning, and the world just didn't feel as safe without President Hinckley in it." He was a beacon of hope and ray of light in a world full of grief and despair. My only comfort is knowing that I have learned many great things from him and will be allowed to take those things with me throughout my life, especially as I raise my children. I will always think of President Hinckley as "my prophet".

Motherhood is the best thing ever! Seriously, I never knew how cool motherhood would be. I was never the type of person who "couldn't wait to be a mom". I didn't rush getting married and actually cried when I found out I was pregnant (not the happy tears either... the "What! How did this happen?" type of tears). Now I can't imagine my life without Nelson and just feel so honored that Heavenly Father trusted me to be his mom. He is such a happy baby! Even when he was sick, he smiled all the time. Seriously, he would spit up everything in his body all over me and then look up and smile at me. I'm glad Heavenly Father is in control and knew that motherhood was exactly what I needed in my life!

Lia Sophia

Last Saturday I went with my friend, Jackie, to a Lia Sophia jewelry party. The jewelry is really nice but somewhat expensive. MARY!

My sister, Mary, is living with us right now! She got home from her mission at the end of November and moved up here after Christmas. She can't start her senior year at Dixie State until the fall because her classes aren't offered until then for her major. I'm okay with that because it gave her time to come and live with us! She is just working now trying to save money and make car payments (she wrecked her old car two weeks after she got off her mission - driving up to see me). I love my little sister! She is the only younger sibling that I have, so it's great to be protective over her. (I get to screen all of her dates - and she goes on about four a week). I'm also glad she is living with me, so she can bond with Nelson. I lived with my old sister, Lora, after she had her first daughter, Macy. Macy and I are the best of friends, and I want Mary to have that same bond with Nelson. I like this picture of Mary and Nelson because you can see that Aunt Mary makes Nelson happy already (her giggle makes everyone happy)!

I'm Back... I Promise & The Holidays

Okay, so I went almost a month without posting again. It was Christmas break, and I did forget my password for awhile, so I have some excuses. I am getting more and more emails from good friends telling me that they have blogs now, so I am more motivated than ever to actually do this. It has been fun getting to know some of my ward members through their blogs and keeping in touch with good friends really are good reasons for doing this.
We had a great holiday season! We went to Panaca (my hometown) for Christmas and then Nelson was blessed the Sunday after Christmas. We saw a lot of family on both sides which is always nice. I am going to try to figure out how to attach some pictures with this post, so you can see how cute Nelson is getting! I love him so much!
